Merr. leaves are plants that contain secondary metabolite compounds that can be used as medicine in healing cuts. Objective: to determine the ethanol extract ointment of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr.) for healing cuts in rabbits. Methode: the preparation of ointment preparations using the ethanol extract of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr.) is identified for the compound content first then the ointment preparations are made. Tested using 3 (three) rabbits with 5 treatment groups, namely 10%, 12.5%, 15% katuk leaf ethanol extract ointment, positive control (10% povidone iodine), negative control (no extract base). All rabbits were injured with a length of 2cm to a depth of ± 0.2cm, each rabbit received 5 incision points. The wound is smeared 2 times a day every morning and evening. Wound observations were carried out every day for 14 days. Results Data analysis was carried out using One-Way ANNOVA. Results: Katuk leaf ethanol extract contains flavonoids, saponins and tannins. All ointment formulations have activity in healing cut wounds even though they have different healing times. Katuk leaf ethanol extract ointment meets the physical quality test requirements for ointments. The statistical test results showed that there was a significant difference in the healing of cut wounds in rabbits, namely (p<0.05). Conclusion: Katuk leaf ethanol extract ointment with a base concentration of 15% has the most optimal potential for healing cuts in rabbits.
2023-11-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023 Poppy Ayu Holy Fitriana, Supriyanto, Wahyu Purwanjani http://journal.citradharma.org/index.php/pratamamedika/article/view/935Formulation of Ethanol Extract Spray Gel Preparation of Sweet Starbumber Leaves (Averrhoa carambola L.)2023-12-12T10:32:58+00:00Eka Ammyta Putri Perdantiekaammyta@gmail.comGigih Kenanga Sariekaammyta@gmail.comMaulita Saraswatiekaammyta@gmail.com
The sweet star fruit leaf plant (Averrhoa carambola L.) is a plant that has many benefits, one part of the plant that is often used is the leaves which contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins that can be made indo spray gel preparations. Spray gel or commonly called spray gel is a gel that has an aqueous phase of 10-90% of the weight of the spray preparation. This research aims to formulate a spray gel preparation of ethanol extract of sweet starfruit leaves (Averrhoa carambola L.) by testing the physical stability of the spray gel preparation. The formulation of spray gel preparations of sweet starfruit leaf extract (Averrhoa carambola L.) with concentrations of 0.1%, 1% and 1.5% was researched using laboratory experimental methods. Physical stability tests of spray gel preparations include organoleptic tests, pH tests, homogeneity tests, viscosity tests, spray pattern tests, dry time tests, cycling tests and centrifugation tests. The results of testing the physical stability of spray gel preparations for each formula fall within the range of requirements for spray gel preparations. To test the physical stability of the spray gel preparation after the cycling test, the viscosity test and pH test for each formula showed a decrease in each formula, while the organoleptic test did not show a significant change in each formula after the cycling test. The centrifugation test results for each formula showed that it was stable, indicated by the absence of syneresis or phase separation. Based on research, it was found that at the highest concentration the spray gel preparation of ethanol extract of sweet star fruit leaves (Averrhoa crambola L.) had a good physical stability test.
2023-11-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023 Eka Ammyta Putri Perdanti, Gigih Kenanga Sari, Maulita Saraswatihttp://journal.citradharma.org/index.php/pratamamedika/article/view/936Testing the Antibacterial Activity of A Serum Preparation of Pegagan Leaf Extract (Centella asiatica (L.) One of the bacteria that causes acne is Propionibacterium acnes. Katuk leaves contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins and alkaloids which can be used as an acne treatment. One of the pharmaceutical preparations that can be used to treat acne is serum. The aim of this research is to formulate katuk leaf extract into a serum preparation, determine the physical quality characteristics of the serum preparation and then determine the antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes. The research method used is experimental. Katuk leaves were extracted by maceration method with 70% ethanol then serum preparations were made with various extract concentrations, namely FI 40%, FII 60% and FIII 80% on the basis of serum xanthan gum. The physical quality test of the serum preparation including organoleptic, pH, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion and viscosity was carried out, then the antibacterial activity test of Propionibacterium acnes was carried out with positive control of clindamycin 10 µg/disk, negative control of 5% DMSO using disc diffusion method. The results of this study indicate that the formula has a semi-solid form, the color of FI is brownish green, FII is dark green and FIII is blackish green with a distinctive aroma of the extract, the formulation is homogeneous, has a pH, spreadability, adhesion and viscosity that meets the requirements of a good serum. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that the negative control had no inhibition zone, the positive control showed a strong inhibition zone of 20.09 and the katuk leaf extract serum formulation had a moderate inhibition zone of FI 18.11, FII 19.21 and FIII 19.36 the greater the inhibition zone produced due to the higher concentration of the extract made.
