Transgender dan Khuntsa dalam pandangan islam

Abstract

Discussion of Transgender is an issue that is being widely discussed among the general public. This article discusses the prohibition of Transgender according to Islamic views, where gender change does not only occur among non-Muslims, even some Muslims also do this. Transgender does not occur because of a mental disorder, nor does it require therapy. It is not uncommon for us to hear news about a man who changed his gender to become a woman for certain reasons, and vice versa. That's why there are many differences of opinion regarding the Transgender issue. Regarding Transgender, many people think that Khuntsa is the same as Transgender, even though Khuntsa and Transgender are very different. If Transgender is a term that describes someone whose gender identity does not match the sex they were assigned at birth, then Khuntsa is a person who has two genders at once when he is born or even has no genitals at all. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method whose research material is based on the Al-Quran and Hadith. The results of this research conclude that some scholars forbid someone from changing their physical appearance in any way, except for perfection or gender determination, as in the case of a khuntsa, so the law is permissible.
