Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilisation of simple musical instruments in early childhood music learning at PAUD Tegar Tangguh. Through a qualitative approach with a case study type, this research explores how teachers utilise simple musical instruments - both handmade and derived from everyday objects - to stimulate children's musical, motor and social development. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and documentation of learning activities. The results show that the use of simple musical instruments such as bottles filled with seeds, cans and wooden sticks can create a fun, active and participatory learning atmosphere. The children are more easily involved in musical activities because this approach is close to their world. In addition, teachers have an important role in designing creative activities that adapt musical instruments to the learning theme. Constraints include the limited durability of the instruments and the need for teacher training in developing innovative music methods. This study recommends the utilisation of simple musical instruments as an effective and economical medium in learning music in PAUD, especially in environments with limited facilities
