Islamosphere: Journal of Global Islamic Studies
Islamosphere is a peer-reviewed journal that upholds the highest standards of publication ethics. This journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing all aspects of publication ethics, including the handling of research and publication misconduct.
This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process of this journal—authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, peer-reviewers, and the publisher Yayasan Citra Dharma Cindekia. Islamosphere and the publisher are committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record and ensuring best practices related to ethical issues, errors, and retractions. Any form of unethical behavior, including plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
Islamosphere adapts COPE standards to meet high ethical expectations for publishers, editors, authors, and reviewers. Ethical publication practices are vital to enhancing the quality of global scholarly research. Below are the specific ethical standards for each party involved:
For Editors:

Editors have full responsibility for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published, based on the review report of the editorial board and reviewers.

Editors must evaluate manuscripts for intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers in making their publication decisions.

Editors should ensure a double-blind review process, where the identity of authors and reviewers is protected.

Editors must not use unpublished information in their own research without the express written consent of the author.

Editors are responsible for identifying and preventing the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication.

Editors must respect reasonable requests from authors to exclude individuals from reviewing their manuscripts.

In cases of suspected misconduct, editors will follow COPE guidelines and flowcharts.
For Reviewers:

Reviewers must assist editors in making editorial decisions and improving the quality of the submitted paper.

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

Reviewers are required to treat the manuscript as a confidential document.

Reviews must be conducted objectively, and personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.

Reviewers should notify the editor if they feel unqualified to review the manuscript or cannot complete the review within the required time frame.

Reviewers should avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions connected to the papers.
For Authors:

Authors affirm that their submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.

Authors must ensure their work is free of plagiarism and properly cites the work of others following the journal’s citation format.

Authors must not engage in self-plagiarism or submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Authorship should be limited to those who have significantly contributed to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.

All co-authors must have seen and approved the final version of the paper and agreed to its submission.

Authors must ensure no personal information that could identify a patient is present in any form unless strictly necessary and with explicit consent.

Authors should promptly inform the editor if they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work.

Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the research.
Publisher’s Role:
The publisher, Yayasan Citra Dharma Cindekia, does not interfere with the integrity of the content and supports the journal in publishing articles in a timely manner while adhering to ethical standards.
