Publication Ethics

Ethics Statement

Literasi Nusantara is a peer-reviewed electronic journal dedicated to the advancement of Education, Arts, and Technology. This journal follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding all aspects of publication ethics and the management of research misconduct.

This statement clarifies the ethical expectations for all parties involved in the act of publishing an article, including the Author, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the Peer Reviewers, and the Publisher (Yayasan Citra Dharma Cindekia). We are committed to preventing publication malpractice and do not tolerate plagiarism or unethical behavior in any form.

1. Duties of Editors

  • Publication Decisions: Based on the peer review reports, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published.

  • Objectivity & Fairness: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors should recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions.

  • Integrity: Editors will be guided by COPE flowcharts in cases of suspected misconduct or disputed authorship.

2. Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper.

  • Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the process.

  • Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.

  • Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

  • Ethical Alertness: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper.

3. Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards: Authors of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance.

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this must be appropriately cited or quoted.

  • Multiple/Concurrent Publication: An author should not, in general, publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical.

  • Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.

  • Conflict of Interest & Funding: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

  • Fundamental Errors: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

4. Duties of the Publisher

Yayasan Citra Dharma Cindekia, as the publisher of Literasi Nusantara, ensures that the editorial process is not influenced by commercial interests. The publisher supports the editors in their efforts to manage cases of suspected research or publication misconduct and is committed to the timely publication of scholarly work.
